KB943460 and search features

Since installing KB943460 security update when using the search companion to
search "All files and folders" the browse function will not let me select a
network drive or folder, it defaults back to "All drives". Works fine with
local drives and folders. Uninstalling the security update has been the only
solution I have found. I have 3 PCs networked throughout the house, using XP
Pro on 2 and XP home on 1.

The problem now is Windows Update is wanting to reinstall the security
update but I use the search too much to lose the browse feature accross the
network.

Have you looked into the updates group within the web interface discussion
group?
When you consider that KB943460 is mainly the sole offer this Black Tuesday,
there has been a lot of activity about it causing problems.
It may be worth watching this group.
Even that MS MSRT has for some - most unusual.
You can of course hide this update in WU Home, which will stop that shield
from showing.

You could try the below.

Download the update from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...93a7-6a6c6a87be7f&displaylang=en&Hash=7LFJN64

Windows Update already installed
http://www.updatexp.com/windows-update-already-installed.html

Windows Update says the update is still needed
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/needagain.htm

You are repeatedly offered an update
