Kalendar - no uninstall?

Terry Pinnell

I decided to uninstall 'UK Kalendar', the no longer supported
single-screen year calendar from Ulrich Krebs. (I found a plug-infor
Outlook, and the trial version seems to be working fine here, so I
won't need to find the 25USD.) But it appears that Kalendar has no
entry in Add/Remove. This seems odd, as the author talks about
uninstalling it in his Help documentation as if it follows
conventional procedure. Maybe it's just some quirk here? I can always
delete the Program Files folder, and all registry entries, but
meanwhile I'm curious if other Kalendar users have an uninstall option
please?

Hello,
I'm the author of UK's Kalender.

Kalender is in fact still a work in progress and _not_ "no longer
supported" (where is this info from?). The next version 2.0 is scheduled
for autumn/winter this year.
But it appears that Kalendar has no entry in Add/Remove. This seems
odd, as the author talks about uninstalling it in his Help
documentation as if it follows conventional procedure.

The instructions for uninstalling are for the setup-version of the
program and not for the zip-version. If you don't install a program
there is usually no uninstall option available.
Maybe it's just some quirk here? I can always delete the Program
Files folder, and all registry entries, but meanwhile I'm curious if
other Kalendar users have an uninstall option please?

The no-install version of UK's Kalender by default does not touch the
registry and runs completely from it's own directory.

Removing is done by deleting the directory where Kalender is located.
This will remove all settings and also all event files, at least if you
didn't change the default settings for some options (e.g. "Use
Registry", "Initial event file").

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Ulrich Krebs

Thanks, Ulrich, appreciate that fast response.

I must have misread a post. Looking back to the thread
Subject: Simple Year Calendar
Date: Fri, 03 Jun 2005 23:03:30 +0100
and in particular the message
I suspect that I confused your program with
GulfCoastal's Quick Year Calendar.

BTW, I warmly endorse the recommendations I had here for Kalendar. The
only reason I've switched to this

http://www.planetsoftware.com.au/products/yearview.aspx
"an ActiveX control that integrates with Microsoft Outlook to provide
a full year view on any assigned calendar"

is that it's integrated with Outlook, so avoids my having to duplicate
entries.
