Hi, I've a big problem with this mainboard under windows xp. 1 week
ago, without any reason, my win XP decided don't load anymore. It
started the beginning logo, and then, when it was time to change to
the password screen it fails give me a blank screen. I didn't know
why, so I made some test, and I found that if I take off my second
sata HDD windows works perfectly. I explain you. I've 2 sata HDD and
on one of them I've installed my OS. These 2 sata hdd are attached to
NVIDIA controllers, the silicon is disabled. My problem is that now,
if I attach the second hdd to SATA 2 controller my OS fails to boot.
I've even upgraded the bios to 1006 first, and latest beta then but
this problem remains. I don't know what to do!!

Your power supply may be the culprit.
Your present PSU may not supply anoufh
current when you add devices.

I've a 500Watt PSU!!!

Means little these days, unless it's a good brand. Anyway, it's
easy to check - disconnect the sata data cable and just have the
power cable plugged-in. If it still fails to boot, then it's either
a bad PSU or a bad drive - it cannot be a software problem.

Visit the hd manu web site for a hd checking utility, your hd could have
failed.
