junk email counted as new message

I "upgraded" to the Live version of Windows Mail and now I have a problem.
Whenever a new message arrives, the icon, in the notification area, will
change, so I can tell there is new messages. This is good but the problem
is that this icon is showing "new message" when junk mail arrives! The icon
will not change back to regular icon until I open the junk mail or delete
it. Outlook does not act like this.

Is there a way to make Windows Live Mail NOT to consider messages that go to
the junk mail folder as new messages?

For the records, I opted for having Windows Live Mail hidden when I minimize
it so only the icon in the notification area is visible.

Thanks.
Andy

This group is for WM, you need the following newsgroup for WLM questions:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

You responded me by telling me that I should ask here, in this group, not
the other one, I don't remember having a real response there.

As far as I know, there is no way to persuade WM that a
junk email is not a new message.
