Jscript and Frames problem

David

I have IE6 SP1 - can't access sites with Jscript and
frames. There is a fix "q827667" but this give an error
message "needs IE6 SP1". when I try upgrading to SP1 i
get the message "your programe is newer then the one you
are downloading" . . .it is SP1 already . . .perhaps it
was upgraded together with SP1 for Windows XP . . .and
therefore "q827667" does not recognise it . . .any ideas?

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the cumulative
security update for Internet Explorer that is documented in Microsoft
Security Bulletin MS03-048 (824145).

Look at the version of mshtml.dll that you already have.
Look at the last cumulative patch that you probably have. (Use Alt-H,A)
Then go and check the version of the module that it installs.

Hint: the message is telling you that you can't apply that fix
because the version it patches has been superseded
by the version of the module that you have.

In fact, the above article even implies this much for you with this:

Note Microsoft originally released a hotfix for this issue
with the following file attributes. This hotfix was released before the
security patch for Internet Explorer that is documented in Microsoft
Security Bulletin MS03-040 (828750). As a result, you cannot install the
original hotfix is you have the MS03-040 (828750) security patch installed.
