JPEG files set to open with a dead shortcut...

I have Paint Shop Pro 7, and it's been recently moved, so for some reason,
the shortcut is now the PSP association, and the shortcut leads to the F
dirve location, and not the E drive location. I cannot figure out how to
delete the shortcut from my associations, and I can't reset it to the
original file... The shortcut does not exist anymore, so I get the error
message : *filename*.jpeg/jpg is not a valid win32 application...
Could someone tell me how to change the association from the shortcut to the
file

There are four ways to work on file associations, and three of them are
described in Help & Support. I am just going to give an outline because
Help & Support has much more detail.
1. Right click on a file with the extension. Then under "open with" select
the correct application and location. Then select the option to use this
application for all such files
2. In Windows Explorer, open "Folder Options" and select "File
associations" (if I remember correctly that is). Then go down through the
list of extensions until you read "jpg" and make the necessary corrections.
3. In the Control Panel, open "Folder Options", and proceed as number 2.
4. Finally, the real control is a sequence of keys in the registry. How to
do this is not discussed in Help & Support".

Have a look at this article:

(307859) HOW TO: Change File Associations
in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859

More info:

Try this...open an image folder and right click one
of your image files...from the menu, select...Open
With / Choose Program.

Make your choice from the list or Browse to the
correct program if it is not in the list.

If you want the default...choose..."Windows
Picture and Fax viewer"

Once you make your selection...be sure to check
the box that says: "Always use the selected program
to open this kind of file". (you will need to do this
for each format....jpg, .tif, .gif...etc.)

Also...you can right click an image and choose
Properties / Change Button...choose the program
you wish to use and click...OK / Apply / OK.

Also...in WinXP, you can go to...My Computer /
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...
