The following problem occurred this week Sept 16 2004.
After joing a domain for the first time on a new machine I
delivered, all seemed to to OK and I now am a member of
the domain!
HOWEVER when logging on as a domain admin or as an admin
on the local machine I go to users and groups, then
groups, then Administrators it does not identify the
domain to allow me to add group permissions for the domain
to the local machine The only thing listed is
the local machine and the dropdown look in select does not
have anything but the local machine listing. THe domain
is active directory Windows 2000 Server. I am aghast as I
have never seen this before. Usually the system asks for
a domain admin with rights to add a user. Please send some
suggestions if you are capable of understanding the issue.
