javascript errors!?

I keep getting the box telling me "javascript error"
I also at times have websites tell me I do not have java enabled... when, in
fact, I do have it enabled!!
I did this:
To configure Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x (Windows):

Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Click the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window.
In the box at the top of the window, make sure the Internet icon is
highlighted. If it is not, click it once to highlight it.
Click the Custom Level button at the bottom of the window.
Scroll down to the section marked Scripting and find the item labeled Active
Scripting.
Make sure the Enable button is marked.
Click OK to close the Security Settings window.
Click OK to close the Internet Options window.

I have to get out of my internet connection and restart it for everything to
work ok again. But after awhile, I get the javascript error thing again!
Not sure what to do!
I am using at&t yahoo browser and internet. Thanks Mike

IE version 6 is about 4 years old, perhaps more: current
IE is version 8. Javascript has also been updated several
times (and perhaps up to date Javascript does not display
correctly under IE.v.6.

But it is not clear whether you are using IE.v.6 or the Yahoo
browser. Repost with details. Very nearly all software shows
its version number via / Help / About.

First of all, Mike. Java and Javascript are two entirely different
animals.

What you are describing seems to be the result of one or more browser
add-ons or some antimalware program interfering (for instance,
SpywareBlaster has something called Flash Killer, which fortunately can
be easily disabled).

What happens when you use Internet Explorer as your browser? What
happens when you use IE in No Add-ons mode?

I am not familiar with the AT&T Yahoo Web browser. Is it a distinct
browser? Or is it a shell for IE?

Thanks Daave. I am referring to javascript. I am not sure about the browser.
We just seem to like and our very familiar with the Yahoo browser. Never did
use IE browser. It doesn't happen all the time. Its just annoying. Alot of
web pages or sites say you have to have javascript enabled to use this site.
And, like I stated. I do have it enabled. Just confusing. Pops up alot in the
email. I talked with a tech at att yahoo and she had me redownload software
and stuff, and it worked for awhile then it went bad again. I contacted them
again, and they told me it would cost me $$ this time to resolve it. So, I
came here. I appreciate you help. Fairly new to this. Thanks again

I purposefully filter out everything from doubleclick.net, so clicking
on that link will be of no help. All it is is an ad.

You didn't answer most of my questions, so there's not really much else
I can do at this point.

According to this page, the AT&T Yahoo Web browser does indeed seem to
be a shell for Internet Explorer:

So, all I can say is what I said before:

You might want to try another browser, too. Opera, Firefox, and K-Meleon
are all quite decent. If you wind up wanting to stay with the AT&T Yahoo
browser, I'm afraid I can't help you with it. It might be something as
easy as tweaking a setting or two. You need to find a forum specifically
for users of this browser. Google might be able to help you:

Since you are using IE (albeit in a different shell), what version is
it? (IE6, IE7, or IE8?)

This is what is stated under 'about att browser'
I use sbc yahoo anti spy
I have mcafee anti virus installed
I have no other add-ons as far as I can tell.
I am using the ATT Yahoo browser, which I understand now is a shell of IE
Always have used this browser, and it hasnt been till recently the
javascript error box problems have came up. And the sites telling me I need
javascript enabled.
