Javascript engine broken in WinXP

The Javascript engine of my WinXP is broken!!!

Sometime ago, when my PC restarted from hibernation, it went Blue screen.
Afterwards, no Javascript is processed anymore.

This effects are for instance that IE6 does not process any Javascript
content, but worst is that some applications are Javascript-dependent,
MSProject and others.

When I start MSProject the main screen goes stays white instead of the Gantt
chart that was supposed to appear. Then with right moure click I can do a
"View Source" which presents me HTML code <-- ProjectGuideMainpage --> :)
with a lot of info, and in particular JScript which my system does not handle
:-(

Question is: How can I fix this? I've tried the install SP2, and MSProject
to try and solve the issue, but clearly it happens that problem is more in
the core of Windows.

Now you may say: Use System Restore. No can do! System Restore also uses
Javascript :-( and when started (even in Safe Mode), so when I start it the
same thing happens as to MSProject. Again HTML code, whith tags that say
generated from MVS6.0 and guess what... more scripting :-(

This is a Toshiba Notebook, and I've tried to use the ASR (Automated System
Recovery) but strangely it hangs. I think this is due to Toshiba strange
partitioning and not related to the problem that I'm experiencing. So this in
not an option too...

Of course I can do the obvious: format+reinstall. But no Windows as ever
beat me, WinXP will not be the first to achieve it!

This is a hard one for all you Windows experts.

PS: I can send the HTML code that I get either from System Restore or
MSProject or many others that have the same problem.

Thanks for the support in advance.
