Unable to install java and the installed java has apparently corrupted and
unable to remove. Error 25099 Message says core files corrupted. The java
icon appears in control panel but when clicked, another message displays-
Could not find the main class: com.sun.deploy.panel.ControlPanel. Program
will exit.
I tried all the java help suggestions. I even downloaded the Windows
Install Clean Up...that was no use. All I know is...I no longer have a
functioning java anything, but would like to. Anyone out there got any
suggestions?
My OS is WinXP SP3

Did you try to first install (to step atop the current installation) and
then uninstall (and then reinstall if you want it)?

Like was suggested, if you know the version you had installed, try
downloading it again, reinstalling, and then uninstall.
http://java.com/en/download/faq/other_jreversions.xml

Then download and install the newest version. The new version 6.13 will
now uninstall any prior installs down to version 6.10. I recommend the
Offline version:
http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

If you're computer savvy, you could search out the program folders,
delete them, search out the CPL file for Control Panel and delete it,
and if you're comfortable using a registry cleaner that you are familiar
with, have it look for java entries. That should remove enough of the
program to install a new one.

Ha! Been there...done that via another post of yours. That's where I got
the lastest download. Still no luck. ???

I'm a bit computer savvy, but apparently not enough. I've tried all I could
find/think of to remove older versions, etc. When checking java's site for
what shows I've got installed, it shows "Your Java version is Version 6
Update 11". If so, I can't find it & the computer doesn't use it. As for
Registry cleaners, I've tried several of those, as well...TweakNow
RegCleaner, PC Pitstop Optimize, Adv System Care, etc. If you got any better
ideas, I'm ready.
Thx

I use ccleaner, regularly. Sorry for overlooking that being added to my
Registry Cleaner list. However, according to another poster, my use of
several cleaners, may have led to my issue. Apparently, I ain't as savvy as
I thought ;o) As for trying to manually mess w/the registry, that would not
be advisable, unless I have the exact info...specifics, etc.
Anyway, I should clarify that one of the reasons I'm unable to remove java
is that there is NO JAVA listings, in the Add/Remove programs. Therefore, I
can't remove what doesn't show up. JAVA is on my system somewhere. Just not
where it should be to function.
Any other suggestions or if someone's willing to help via email, as opposed
to this forum, would be greatly appreciated.
Thx

Have you tried to search for Java?

Yes, I agree that using multiple reg cleaners (or one if you're not sure
of what it's doing) is not advised. That was the "computer savvy" part. ;-)

Like I mentioned, I would download and install 6.11 since that is what
your system states as being installed. Then after you install 6.11,
download and install 6.13. The prior version should be removed after the
install of 6.13.

OK, OK...I get it ;o)
As for your other suggestion, of trying to install the older version that
Java's site shows that I have, I'll try that. Altho I just don't see it
helping, but who knows. I'll be back, otherwise.
Thx, I hope ;o)
