iTunes 7.0

To my great sorrow, I downloaded iTunes 7.0 recently and things have gone
downhill. I managed to prevent iTunes from eating over 100MB of memory by
turning off Podcasts and videos but I can't figure out how to solve the
worst problem which is very choppy sound when I play my music. It sounds
like playing a CD in a car while hitting bumps or railroad tracks - the
sound jumps all over the place. It doesn't happen all the time but it
happens a LOT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

I have already been on the Apple website but iTunes 7.0 seems to be OK for
the Mac. It is the PC implementation that has problems.

Byte is correctly pointing out that you are asking about an Apple product
in a Microsoft forum.

Lots of people (myself included) have had the same problem you described.
Try looking on the Apple site here:

i'm struggling with this now but the problem is because of ANGER at my
Windows Media Player 10 asking me to do a software Accept disclaimer that
goes on forever. I recently turned on Automatic updates for windows xp
Professional, and I HATE IT. It seems like microsoft is obsessed with acting
like Big Brother. What has happened to Windows Media Player 10>> that is what
has driven me to I-tunes

Thanks. A LOT of people bitching about this problem - I guess Apple really
blew it. I will stop using iTunes until Apple fixes this problem.

I thought I would post a followup. Apparently Apple assumed that all PC
customers would have the most recent version of DIRECTX on their PCs. Since
you have to explicitly do something to get it (versus having a service tell
you about updates), I did not have it. I upgraded and now iTunes 7.0 is
working properly.
