ItemsCB is considered unsafe object when viewing Contacts folder

J

Jerome Henriksen

Hello!

Problem:
Whenever I select Contacts or folder with contacts object I get the
warning that another program is trying to access. Outllok asks if it
should allow the program to access it for 1, 2 or more minutes. You
either click Yes or No. (I'm sure you know what dialogbox I'm refering
to.)

Explanation:
I haven't had this problem before when I installed the adapted version
of ItemsCB from MicroEye.

I have downloaded the ItemsCB sample from MicroEye and made some
changes to it suit my purpose and needs. And it worked smoothly and
fine. But all of a sudden, Outlook pops up and tells me that a program
is trying to access the Contact whenever I select the Contact folder.
Same thing goes for another folder containing the contacts object.

When I select other object folder as Inbox, Calendar, Notes, etc. No
warning appears. It is only on Contact.

This puzzles me.

I hope there is somebody who can help me with this.

If you need any information please post it.

Platforms:
Windows XP with language MUI (Danish)
Office XP
And some more softwares in it.

Best regards
Jerome

You are running into the security in the Outlook object model guard.
It would fire when you access certain properties of a contact item, or
anything to do with contacts or a contacts folder using CDO 1.21.

You can use Redemption to bypass the security
(www.dimastr.com/redemption) and you can check out

Thank you for the suggestion. Will be looking into it.

But I have made some changes again to the programming so it will
bypass the procedure when user select Contacts folder.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Jerome
