Hi

I opened up my e-mail the other day to find that a lot of the messages i
thought i'd sent had not been. When i try to go back into them to resend it
doesn't do anything. When i try to open a new mail message and send an
e-mail it goes straight into my outbox - please help. My internet connection
is fine so i can't see why it wont work.

I can receive messages fine. As far as i am aware i haven't changed any
settings so can't see why is doesn't send mails anymore.

Any ideas

You may find that one (the oldest) has an attachment that your ISP won't
acccept. Usually the maximum is 5MB.

Chances are, there is one 'stuck' email in your Outbox.
To find it, move or delete as many of those messages as you can.
Moving them to the Drafts folder is a good temporary holding place.
After you find that one remaining message that is undeletable and
unmovable, apply the Microsoft fix:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Note: From the evidence accumulated over the last 8 months, it
appears that Windows Mail is not compatible with McAfee and
Norton antivirus, which is why this problem continues to happen.
If you want a permanent solution, the non-compatible antivirus program
will need to be uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Does the connection to smtp.charter.net go through charter.net's equipment
all the way? If not, connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause
trouble for spammers. You can ask charter.net if their outgoing email
server listens to any other port for outgoing email, and if so, how to
switch over to using it.

The error message says you were connecting from IP 72.132.155.17
which is a Roadrunner connection. Charter will not allow you to use
their SMTP server from a non-Charter connection.
