Issues with editing a web site live

Hello:

I have a few questions in regards to editting a web site live.
Normally I can go to a Frontpage web site (FP2003) and just hit edit wth
Frontpage in the browser IE -- but sometimes it's grayed out even though it
is a FP web site AND on a friends machine I can edit it, but for me it's
grayed out and other times the same web site will allow me to edit. Why would
that happened? Also, I'm on dial up -- would that have something to do with
it.

Also, is there a way to edit live if you are not using IE? For instance if
you are using AOL -- can you still use the Edit with option? Or Mozilla? I'm
having troubles with my IE so I was trying to use a different browser
temporarily OR can you open a web site live from within FrontPage 2003
(directly) if so how.

Thanks
Coco

You can only use the File Edit w/ FP if you are using IE (not AOL)
- try clearing out your IE temp files

Here are the steps to take to open a site in FrontPage 2003:

1.
With FrontPage 2003 open, on the File menu, click Open Site.

2.
In the Site name box, type the address of your Web site, such as
http://my-site or http://www.litwareinc.com. Then click Open. Type in the
user name and password for the site if prompted for it. The Web site will
open in FrontPage 2003.

I was having the same problem. More often then not when I
went to try and edit with FP the box was grayed-out.
Someone suggested that I delete or at least clean up nt
temp Internet files. I deleted them and Bingo...work every
time now. Strange but it solves the problem...
