Is VB.NET okay after VB6SP5 install?

Hi all!

I have just installed VB6 SP5 over an existing VB.NET 2003
installation on the same machine. The original order of installation
for my machine goes like this - VB6, VB.NET 2003, VB6 SP5.

I just wanted to know from those who may have already done it, or know
for a fact if this is or isn't an issue: will installing VB6 SP5
affect my VB.NET installation in anyway? Any affected areas I should
be concerned about?

Floating about my head are possible issues with VB.NET application
setup and deployment, considering the core VB shared files/components
installed by VB6 SP5 that *may* also be used by VB.NET...

I don't want to reinstall VB.NET immediately because i've already
installed the .Net Compact Framework over it, as well as the VB.NET
resource kit... arrrgh!

Any comments appreciated! :)

Thanks and hope you guys had a Happy New Year!

Well, it not the suggested order... But, I have done it in the past
with out any noticible problems. But, as always - YMMV.

Why is it then that after installing .net, When I use vb6 and quit the IDE
it generates a gpf?

it didn't do that before

I don't know. I've had VB6 do that at random intervals over the years
and it is usually traceable back to a naughty addin. And, 8 out of 10
times it's been the API Viewer.

But, I've been running VB6 SP5 with VS.NET 2002 and 2003 on my home box
for quite some time with out issue.

Thank you all for your responses...

On Jose's query though, before I ever installed the VB6SP5, I had
always alternated between VB6 and VB.NET, without ever getting an
error. I'm running XP, so maybe the OS has something to do with it.

just a few months before I installed the SP6 which is still in its beta
stage. and not finding any problem.
