Is this Swen.a virus?

Help!!! I am being infested!!!! So far today I have
received 9 e-mails ( to my yahoo mailbox) purporting to
be from Microsoft and supposed to contain security
updates via an attachment.I have deleted them all as I
understand Microsoft does not send e-mails of this kind.
Is this the Swen.a virus??? I have also had numerous
mails stating "message failure" which is strange as I
have not sent any for 2 days. Anyone got any advice

Yes Jenni, It is a virus, Microsoft never send

attachments by e-mail only ever links, you did the right
thing by not opening it.
Delete immediately.

Why do people think they are infected just b3cause they are RECEIVING the
e-amails???

No you are not infected UNLESS you open on of the attachments. You are
getting the e-mail because people who have opened the attachments have
you in their address books and/or you have posted your real e-mail
address in Usenet forums.

A virus can cause you to send e-mail without your knowlwdge. But not
receive e-mail.
