Is this happening to anyone else?

Hello,

In A2007 When I open a table or query in design view and close from design
view, and sometimes when I make changes to a form, Access crashes. Also if
I create a memo field in a table, there are no format options available
(Plain Text; Rich Text).

Is anyone else having this problem?

I had the issue with the Trial Version of Access 2007. Then I reinstalled
Windows and loaded a purchased copy (Microsoft version). The problem was
still there. Several times I tried repariing Office, and uninstalled and
reinstalled Access. No results.

I posted this before an noone said they were having this issue, so I am
asking again. I find it hard to believe that this is a fluke that happened
twice with different copies and under diffferent envirionments. If I
believed that I might as well believe evolution is true. ;)

God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

Hi Mark. Comments in-line.

BTW, MS released SP1 for Office 2007 today.
Certainly worth applying.

In certain cases, the crash occurs if you make a change, but don't tab to
the next property (which forces that property to get updated.)

I also suggest you explicitly save, and (as always) make sure Name
AutoCorrect is off.)
Also if I create a memo field in a table, there are no format options
available (Plain Text; Rich Text).

In table design view, you should see the Text Format property in the lower
pane if Access recognises the field as a memo. Again, make sure Name
AutoCorrect is off.

If anyone else has seen this, hopefully they will post a followup.

Allen,

Thank you. I will apply SP1.

The things you mentioned in your post were not issues. If I only open a
table without changes, the crash occurs. I mentioned the text format
becuase it may be related to the problem.

Other than this problem, A2007 behaves well. It has a lot of great features
and the ability to make a better looking application.

God Bless,

Hello Allen,

Thanks for the headup on SP1. That seems to have fixed the crashing
problem. I still have no option to select Rich Text as a format property,
but I'll live. ;)

God Bless,

Mark
