Is there such a thing as a QUIET mouse?

A mouse that has quiet buttons that is. I have a basic Microsoft
Optical wired mouse at the moment but as I often use the computer late
at night the sound of "Click, click..." often annoys my wife.

So, is there a mouse that has QUIET buttons? And maybe a quiet
keyboard too for that matter.

Thanks.

You could try a touchpad, although they get to be a royal pain in the *ss
when trying to do drag and drop operations. Other than that, I couldn't find
anything about a "quiet mouse" anywhere, except that you're not the only one
looking for one.

I like the touch pad mouse. They are absolutely quiet, unless you tap them
very hard. The Cirque is a very good one. The touch pad mouse takes some
time getting used to it. Some people hate them with a passion. I love it,
because it is not only quiet, but I don't the problem if running out of
space and having to pick up and restart like with a mouse. No mouse pad is
required, and the buttons are also very quiet. You can also work without the
buttons, and assign the corners to be equivalent to the buttons, or be a
shortcut.

Or a less sensitive wife?
