Is there any place to D/L Real Alternative and QT Alternative *minus* Media Player Classic?

I was interested in trying out Real Alternative and QuickTime
Alternative, but the combined D/L is over 11 MB. I suspect that a good
portion of this bulk is the Media Player Classic included with both
programs, however, I already use MPC, in fact I have a more current
version than the one packaged with these two progs. Does anyone know
if it is possible to get just the essential files and codecs for these
programs without MPC included?

MPC has always been under 1 MB. The two locations that I use for the
download are:

MPC:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358

Real Alternative:

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail.php3?fid=1054136293

QuickTime Alternative:

If you have a later version of MPC already installed, do the two Alt
progs installation routines know enough not to "downgrade" MPC to the
version packaged with them?

If you already have a version of MPC installed, you can tell the
Quick/Real Alternative not to install the version of MPC which is
included.

Thanks. I'll give them a try.

Caution! I tried Real Alternative today. It could not play Real .rm files
(or anything at all!).

And ... how wonderful ... my existing Real Player stopped working. Nice
software, Alternative dudes!

So ... uninstalled Real Alternative. Uninstalled Real Player.

Reinstalled Real Player. Done.

So, the fact that you couldn't get it to work means that it's flawed,
despite the fact that it works for us?
