is there an XP replacement for SUBST?

Besides not surviving a reboot (unless in startup directory), SUBST also doesn't
survive getting a new security token for a user.

It would be nice to be able to map a drive letter permanently to a folder.

Is there a way in XP Pro?

The command "net use" performs a similar function to subst.exe.
