For simple tables I prefer to use the PPT table feature rather than insert
them in Word format. When I have an existing Word table that I want to
convert, I open the Word object, select all, close object, Paste Special
into a textbox as unformatted text. Then I drag the content in bits to the
appropriate cells of the PPT table. Then I reformat the PPT table. But there
must be an easier way, is there? Since the content is already in cells in
the Word table, is there a way to map cell to cell? Likewise for Excel.
Sometimes I use the clipboard to load up and paste the content of 12 cells
at a time but I'd like to hear if anyone has a better method.
