Is there a way to change the behavior for dragging an email to Tas

Here's the issue. When I drag (copy) an email to the Tasks folder all of the
fields are populated BUT the attachment is not carried over. However, if I
right click an email & perform the move to folder (to Tasks) the attachment
will stay but everything appears in an envelope (without populating all of
the fields).

What I'd like to get is the best of both worlds. Is there a way to set
Outlook (exchange client) so that I can drag an email to the Tasks & the
attachment will copy over AND all of the fields will be populated?

I know - picky picky. It would just make life easier by eliminating the
need to hunt for the original email whenever I need to view the attachment.

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can offer some help.

I'm not sure I follow - if I drag, the message body is in the task's note
field. if it r-click and drag, I can choose to add the message as an
attachment (same as using move or copy to folder options) - in either case,
the fields are populated the same. The only diff is if the message has an
attachment, it's not on the task with the message body in the task note
field, but it's encased in the message attachment. That you can't change...
although before you save and close the task, you can drag attachments off
the email or attach the email.

To drag an attachment - select it in the message and drag to the task body
and drop.
To insert the message as an attachment, insert, item menu and browse for it
or drag it from the inbox and drop on the note field.
