Is there a new version of NYB around?

Recently my machine managed to get NYB. So badly that it was residing on a
boot sector with System Commander on it, which I thought wasn't possible.
(It was in DOS compatibility mode, none of th eCD drives worked and I
cleaned it with fdisk /mbr to prove that it was on the MBR with System
Commander on it)

In addition it seems to have caused the floppy to have become useless in
toto. The OS reports no floppy on it and attempts to use the floppy result
70% of the time in the message either that the flopy in the drive is write
protected or that (in Dos) there is no floppy

Does anyone know how to get rid of it without being able to FDISK /MBR? I
did manage to do this once successfully but later attemtps to do the same
thing from the same clean floppy didnt work and I had to re-make a boot
disc. But now the unit wont see the floppy at all

Is there a new verson of this old virus out there which does this? And is
there a way of cleaning floppies which have it on them? Can I put infected
floppies in a non-infected computer and run FDISK /MBR on the floppy
somehow? ( I cant find any tool anywhere)

It blocks access to the A drive (not particularly effectively) and infects a
clean floppy WHILE it is effectively re-writing the master boot record on
the hard drive. So even though you have rid your computer of the virus, if
you (accidentally or later) reboot from the supposedly clean floppy, the MBR
will become infected again.

(Symantec seems unaware of it and their reporting procedures are so
convoluted that I am not going to spend time telling them of it; but I was
wondering if anyone else had come across it?)
