IS NOT RECOGNIZED AS AN INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL COMMAND
We get this message on a pc inside the cmd window. How can
we fix this short of reinstalling W2K. Will W2K repair
during intsall fix it?

I'd have to say that reinstalling the OS would be a pretty aggressive
solution.

What's in the startup folder? What's in the run keys in the registry?
What's in login scripts? etc.

Check your environment for PATH values. If you see any "%" in the
output of PATH at a cmd prompt it may that your registry value for
Machine Path has become REG_SZ instead of REG_EXPAND_SZ.
