Is it possible to set up a swap image for mouseover buttons

My task is to replicate a web site in PowerPoint.
Is it possible to set up buttons in PowerPoint so that when you mouseover or
click on them they can display another image?
I am familiar with the action settings which allow you to add a highlight to
a mouseover or clicked button but have not found a way to Swap an image or
even vary the way the highlight works.
Hope you can help.

What you really want is to have a trigger based on a mouse-over, but this
is not possible. However, depending on how much trouble you want to go to,
you can do what you want. You can have the mouse over action either
hyperlink to another slide or run a VBA script. The hyperlinked slide can
be just like the original except with a different picture. The VBA script
could be set to hide the original picture and show the new picture.

The Mouseover event could trigger a macro that makes the original image
invisible and makes the rollover image visible. There'd also need to be some
cleverdeviltry to make the original image visible again once the cursor moves
off the rollover image; perhaps another shape underneath the two and a bit
bigger.

Macros will only work in the full version of PPT and only if the user's
security settings permit it. That may put the squash on the whole idea.

Hi David,
Thanks for the reply.
I have used the technique of hyperlinking to another identical slide (except
for the one pic) to create the illusion of a mouseover but with so many
buttons on this website (soon to be PowerPoint) the total number of slides
would become a little unwieldly. I'd be interested in following up on the VBA
solution but I'm pretty 'green' in this area so any help or pointers would be
appreciated.
Regards
Chris

Well, the first place to start would be the Programming PowerPoint
section of the PPT FAQ:

The learning curve is a bit steep for this. I don't know if anyone here
would be willing to help you out with a sample (I wish I had the time
right now). I have a lot of examples on my Web site, but I don't think
any of them have quite the effect you want.
