Is it possible to attach child link to parent in link?

HI! Is it possible to have a link that opens up the main Iframe parent page
and loads a given child page in it?

Is there a html way of doing this? I know we can specify the target in the
link but can we also give the child iframe?

Found answer, I created a serverside variable in the main frame then passed
the files in the form of a variable.

eg. http://www.mysite.com/main.asp?varible=pathtofile/file.asp
