Is favorites file stored anywhere in Windows Backup

Hi,

I backed up a laptop using the Windows XP backup which backed up the entire
hard drive of the laptop. One thing I forgot to do was to save the favorites
in Internet Explorer. I still have the XP backup that was made. Is there a
file that stores a person's favorites deep inside of windows somewhere or
does this file only exist when you create a bookmark which is something that
I did not do?

Thanks,

Favorites is a folder, not a file and each individual favorite is a
file.

The Favorites folder should be in your backup.
Favorites location in Windows XP if installed on C:
C:\Documents and Settings\logon_name\Favorites

Just copy the contents of the folder to your current favorites folder
(if necessary, though if you didn't create any, it seems a little
pointless)
