IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL: overheating?

Lately, I've been getting IRQL NOT LESS THAT OR EQUAL BSOD errors on
Win XP. They got worse over the past months.

I've tried reinstalling Windows, a different vid card, sound card and
I'm thinking it might be a heat problem.

I have an Athlon XP 2000+ with the most basic of heat sinks. Other
than that, all I have is the fan on the vid card. I don't have a case
fan at this point.

Anyway, I noticed that my CPU temps under load are in the 62-65C
range. Also when I opened the case to try a different memory bank
slot, my RAM chips were pretty warm.

Memtest86 ran all last night and showed no failures, but the crashes
mostly come during intensive games and video rendering apps (Premier
and Vegas Video).

Could overheating components cause the IRQL error I'm getting?

Thanks.

Suggestions here. First one on the list at the left...

Have you tried changing out your motherboard or
processor? I build them all the time and that seems to
be what does it for me. But that might not be the extent
of the problem or the problem at all.
