IrfanView ... when, oh when?

Does Skiljan pay any attention to suggestions? IrfanView could be
soooo much better, but he seems headstrong to avoid anyone else's
ideas. I like many of his features in IrfanView, but others like
XNView, FireGraphic, even Uniview are more convenient.

I would like to see IrfanView display pictures in CENTER SCREEN,
on black background, with the window fully opened. All the others
mentioned do this. All IrfanView can do is to vary the size of
the window, which is distracting in the extreme, especially with
other programming in the background. So unattractive!

I once sent him a suggestion to which he responded by email, and he
implemented the suggestion in the very next version. It was actually a
lament about a feature that had been lost in the course of some changes
that he had made in the previous version, but he noted my concern,
thanked me for my interest, and restored the feature in such a way as to
be even better than it had been before.

I have the most powerful image editors on my computer.
But the only program (of any kind) I have as a shortcut on my desktop is
infancies.
Its that useful.

and when you press ENTER, you get the picture centered with black
background. Okay, then you miss the window border ("fully opened")
but for me it is working fine. I also like the behaviour of the
almost minimal window size.

Regards,
Thorsten

I've found him to be quite good. He makes an effort to answer most of
the emails sent to him and that is probably a LOT. Your idea about what
is good is obviously different to what his idea is. Nothing wrong with that.

I find Irfanview is riddled with poorly thought out user interfaces.

If it wasn't so chock-full of impressive functions then I probably
wouldn't use it.

Total Commander is another that falls into this category. Superb
function but awful to navigate.

I would like to see IrfanView display pictures in CENTER SCREEN,
you are joking or that stupid?
Hit the enter key and you go full screen, displaying center screen, just
like you wish.
RTFM or in this case : click on the view tab.

Joker, you have replied to me (Frank) but I am not the person who
posted what you quote.

If I may, I might make the observation that your post is sort of
ironic 'cos you seem to be telling someone how breathtakingly
simple it is to use a particular piece of software, yet at the
same time you give a live demonstration of how difficult you find
it to another simple piece of software. Outlook Express. :)

I wonder if the first line of your post is intended as a joke, but
not at face value? Heh!

Options > Properties > Misc. 2 > "Center window when loading new image"

View > Display options >
"Fit images to desktop" or better "Fit only big images to desktop"

If you want black background then use fullscreen option.
