IrDA and Device Emulator

Hi all!

I can't figure out how to emulate the IrDA port using the Device
Emulator that is shipped with Visual Studio 2005. My PC has an
integrated infrared port. What must I do in order to use IrDA with the
emulator?

You can't use your desktop IrDA port to emulate IrDA on the emulator, that
is something you'll need to test on real hardware.

Can't you just have a virtual serial port for the real IrDa and map it
to the emulator?

OK, but how can I define a virtual serial port for the real IrDa?

Thanks,

You mean the real IrDa port at your PC or laptop? Hasn't it already a
serial port assigned? Look it up in the device manager on the PC/laptop
it should be shown somewhere there. If you know which one it is, simply
set up the emulator so that it maps it to the pda.

e.g.: if IrDa is COM3 at the PC tell the emulator to provide access to
COM3 for the PDA being emulated.
