I hope I am posting to Microsoft Managed Newsgroup that guarantees a reply
for TechNet Plus subscribers in 24 hours.

I have new HP laptop with SP2 installed. After updating patches the IPSEC
services will not start. Error number 10045 when I try to manually start
from services, and will not start on reboot with error 7023.

Would like to know what could be causing this and how to correct.

IPSEC services will not start on laptop. All other computers on my network
have IPSEC services started properly. I have tried to restart, start IPSEC
services on the laptop and I get error 10045.

Are you telling me to restart IPSEC on all Domain Controllers and Member
Servers to get it to start properly on the one laptop that is having the
problem.

Thanks, Cindy

Resolution for error 10045 when we start IPSEC

Hi All

If you have this error 10045 in your event log when you try to start ipsec service on the services window. You can try the following step:-

1)Click on start-->run type CMD (push enter).
2)On the command prompt (black box) type the command
netsh winsock reset (push enter)

Then it will prompt you to restart the computer.
Restart the computer.
Then try to start the service.

Bingo it will start working
If not please mail me.
I will give you more step to solve the problem.
