iphone sync - how to keep laptop calendar from overriding iphone

When I synch Iphone with laptop the laptop adds deletions and and ignores
changes I have made to calendar and contacts in Iphone. How can I prevent
laptop from adding previously synched but now deleted items to Iphone.

Ask the provider of the software used to sync - it is not an Outlook issue.
