When i type ipconfig it says ipconfig not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. It also says c:\ document and settings, i thought it should just say c?

Hope you can help

First of all you should not run ipconfig true Start-Run-Ipconfig
But via Start-Run-CMD and than type Ipconfig.
Second of all you should check your system32 folder if the ipconfig is available

I have the same problem. I have checked and ipconfig.exe is in System32 folder. How do we get it to run from the Command Prompt ? (Start>Run>cmd)

seanquinn, welcome to the forum.
But you are answering a thread over a year old.
It would be better to start a new thread to get help quicker!

Try running "c:\windows\system32\ipconfig.exe"

Fixed it myself

It's OK, I fixed it myself.....copied file "ipconfig.exe" from Sys32 folder to Docs & Settings folder on C drive. Command now works normally. Thanks anyway.
