I am running Windows XP Professional SP1.
This is a fairly new installation and everything was
working. I wanted to share some files, so I right-
clicked on the folder I wanted to share and chose Network
Sharing. I went through the Network Setup Wizard.
All of this worked. However, I noticed that when the
wizard configured network sharing, it setup a Network
Bridge b/n the Ethernet and Token Ring adapters in the
system w/o asking me if I wanted to setup a Bridge.
I proceeded to delete the Network Bridge. After deleting
the bridge, I still have network connectity. I can ping
systems, do nslookups, and access the web.
However, ipconfig doesn't work now. It returns:
C:\Documents and Settings\ohsu>ipconfig
Windows IP Configuration
An internal error occurred: A device attached to the
system is not functioning.
Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for
further help.
Additional information: Unknown media status code.

Like I mentioned previously, I can still ping, do name
resolution, and access web pages. When I go through the
GUI (Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections ->
Local Area Connection, the status says Connected. It
seems like it is only ipconfig that doesn't work.
