ipconfig error from command line...

I have a IBM thinkpad that is running Windows WP sp2 wit the latest updates.
I also have Mcafee virus scanning software and Microsoft's spyware beta
running. I have received the following error from from running ipconfig
from a command line:

An internal error occurred: A device attached to the system is not
functioning.
Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.
Additional information: Unknown media status code.

What is strange is that the computer seems to be working prefectly. I can
see the ip address from the GUI in network places. And have no problem
connecting to the internet, etc... Any ideas? Thanks.

Does your Thinkpad have a wireless nic in it, btw? Possibly that needs to be
configured.

Windows is *NOT* a virus. Viruses are small and efficient.
