We are trying to file share a new program to our 2 windows
98 workstations. It is the follet library program. This
past summer we were able to connect and there was not a
problem. We since then recieved a virus. We had the
virus removed and installed our backup of the follett
program. We now cannot connect to the workstations to
bring the file to the workstations. When trying to
connect to the server throught the workstation we are
asked for a password <Gateway/IPC$> then it asks for a
password and there has never been a password on the
server. What do I do?

Unfortunately, you need to be much more specific about your network. You
mention a server, is it running Windows 2000 or higher? If so, then you
will always need a password, otherwise you will not be able to access it.
Is it a domain or workgroup network - this is important because you may need
to use domain accounts rather than local accounts.
