IP Printing / ICS

Anthony

Yes I have a small network run off a novell server, only
to store our documents on, I have a printer connected
directly to the novell server and one that has an IP
address, when I enabled Internet Sharing over the
network, you can no longer print to the IP printer. YOu
can still print to the printer conneted directy to the
server, but not the one that has an IP address, if anyone
could please help me with this problem, I need that one
printer, it is the only one that will do our payroll
checks. Thank you for your time, please feel free to e-
mail me at (e-mail address removed).

Thank You
Anthony

Hi Anthony,
I think you need to run a port emulator, or maybe you have one already, to
enable you to add a port and point it to the printers IP address. Hewlett
Packard provide one for the printers/print servers as do Tektronix for their
Phaser printers. You may even need to setup one of you machines as a print
server.

Also have a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314073&Product=winxp

I run IP printing over a Novell 6 network, but use a 2 or 3 different
methods on what is/isn't possible with differing applications. If you get
stuck come back with more details.
Regards
