IP email sent to programs

My IP which is Windstream (formerly Alltel) is where I 'go' to 1st check my
email so that I 'use THEIR servers' protection to weed out virus, etc.;
Windstream says once I 'open' the program, it immediately 'dumps' it into my
email program. However, it is sending it to IncrediMail (and NOT to
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007). Do I HAVE to 'uninstall' "IncrediMail"? I
like some of its 'features', but it gets slow. The 'gold pearl' button that
'shows up in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is gone...so apparently I do NOT
get my email 'dumped' there and I think I'd rather have it there. Using
VISTA Business on a 64x2 dual core processor w/3GB of memory. This is
getting 'old' and my 'contacts' and/or address book is NOT the same in any of
the 3 email programs and I can't seem to get 'information' from one to
another. What am I doing wrong?

sounds like you installed incredimail and allowed it to be your default
email program.
make outlook your default and try again.

OK then, "Not Me", where do I go and what do I do to make Microsoft Office
Outlook my default? Do you 'think' I can 'make' Microsoft Office Outlook my
default withOUT having to 'get rid' of IncrediMail? I am NOT a 'computer
wizard', and I no longer trust Dell for support... It's a 'good thing' I can
'type fast' or they 'disconnect me when I attempt a chat session'.

In IE7, tools>internet options>programs
there should be a drop down list on the e-mail line, pick Outlook, then
Apply, OK.

From within Outlook there is also a way, but it varies by version.

Like I said, "I'm full of 'stupidity questions'... I went as far as
Outlook...but it didn't ask for "apply" so I just hit 'OK'; will let you know
how it works... (hopefully, I will be able to say WONDERFUL...it
worked...I'll let you know one way or the other).

Hi "Not Me" - it seems to have worked, thank you so much! It's just been a
bit hard to 'get used to an operating program with so many 'kinks' and NOT
having someone who 'understands' you language to try to deal with. I'm sure
I will get 'chastized' for my remarks...but between VISTA and NAFTA...we sort
of got the 'short end of that stick'! While I'm in my 'asking mood' - do you
have to 'type in ALL your contacts' under EACH email program? Apparently, @
least one is not getting any information (but I think that is because of
being 'grandfathered' into the IP; and the other 2 have been 'changed'...but
I 'miss' an address or two here and there! What causes 'doubling' up on
emails? You sound as if you have worked with VISTA enough to understand it
better than I have. Thank you so much for answering that first question...if
you can help with the rest...please do!

doubling up on emails?
getting duplicates in your mail program can be caused by the server not
syncing with the mail program properly to know which messages it has already
downloaded.
That is usualy a server problem.
Sending double emails is usually from accidentally clicking SEND twice. it
can be a server error, but not often.
Most email programs have a way to export/import your address book.
It depends on the program. Poke around in the settings and see if there is
something labelled import/export.
An online mail server (like Yahoo) does not always have an easy way to do
it.

Thanks...it seems to have 'converted' back over to Microsoft Office Outlook
2007 with the 'suggestions' I have gotten' - just would like to know (if
possible) how I can make all 3 programs have the same contacts/address books
as well (preferably WITHOUT having to 're-type all of them'; but I 'do have
and keep a hard copy of my most recent list with all names in the event of a
God Forbid total "crash"; I 'crashed' Satan a minimum of about 6 times and
was calling Dell on a 'several times daily' basis BEFORE they got the idea
that 'hey, this lady must have gotten ahold of a bad potato'. Three
computers and 3 updates later ... I have the machine that I 'should have
gotten in the first place'. NOT every salesperson 'understands' a customers'
desires; and NOT every customer can MAKE them 'visualize' what they want.

Windows Contacts and Outlook can both export and import to and from CSV
files.
