IP Addresses

want a list of 1 or more companuies who sell bulk quantities of IP
addresses.

Normally, when buying a dedicated server then I get 5-6 dedicated IP's
included in the price. but i want to have 200-300 IP's.

1) I want to be able to buy 256 IP addresses (a whole subnet class of
IP addresses) for max 20 USD a month.

2) Which organizations "issues" IP addresses and how do I become a
re-seller of IP addresses?

3) What is the URL for the application form to become a reseller of IP
addresses? (it it Icannn ?)

4) What does it cost to become a reseller of IP-addresses and how long
time does it take to be approved?

5) What is the actual cost of IP-addresses when buying them from the
IP-issuing organization?

You will have to talk to your ISP about this, it is your ISP that will have
to set up their router for your IP addresses. Even if you could purchase the
IPs without going through your ISP, it would be an expensive set of
non-routable addresses until all the routers from the RIR to you have your
route.

2) Which organizations "issues" IP addresses and how do I become a
re-seller of IP addresses?
That would be IANA www.iana.org and one of the RIRs (Regional Internet
Registry System), depending on where you are located, ARIN, RIPE, APNIC,
LACNIC, AfriNIC

http://www.iana.org/ipaddress/ip-addresses.htm

http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space

http://www.ripe.net/info/resource-admin/rir-system.html

I don't think it is that simple, you'd need to hire a room full of lawyers
just to keep you current with all the government regulations.

4) What does it cost to become a reseller of IP-addresses and how long
time does it take to be approved?

How long it takes would probably depend on how deep your pockets are. Talk
to your current ISP, I would be surprised to here it could cost a couple of
hundred thousand dollars for you to become a small ISP with a /24 network
(256 addresses subtract 1 for the Network address, minus 1 for the broadcast
address gives you 254 useable minus 1 for the router address gives you a
total of 253 addresses that can be assigned to machines)
5) What is the actual cost of IP-addresses when buying them from the
IP-issuing organization?

I don't think it is so much the cost of the IPs as it is the cost of setting
up the routers for your subnet.

Not all ISPs will even give '5-6' with a server purchase.

Ask your ISP if you can 'pay more' for more addresses. In
my experience those ISP who DO give more than one address
per server, also support requests for additional addresses.

As Kevin wrote (separate answer message), you will have to
arrange "routing" so when you buy IPs you really have to buy
connectivity also.

This generally means buying from an ISP (or NAP*) which is setup
to provide this service -- many consumer focused ISP don't support
this, some might.

Generally, the large ISPs which focus on selling SERVERS (and not
just virtual servers) will have this as a purchasable item.

For instance, GoDaddy.com sells additional IPs for some fixed price
per year or month.
1) I want to be able to buy 256 IP addresses (a whole subnet class of

*You could investigate a NAP, or Network Address provider -- in theory
at least -- this is where ISPs get THEIR addresses, routing, and
connectivity.
2) Which organizations "issues" IP addresses and how do I become a
re-seller of IP addresses?

This is NOT precisely fixed but conceptually it works sort of like
the following:

NAPs -> (big) ISPs -> (other)ISPs (and Large Companies) -> Individuals
3) What is the URL for the application form to become a reseller of IP
addresses? (it it Icannn ?)

No. Contact (some) NAP (use google.) And think of the NAP as the
"an ISP to other ISPs")
4) What does it cost to become a reseller of IP-addresses and how long
time does it take to be approved?

See above.
5) What is the actual cost of IP-addresses when buying them from the
IP-issuing organization?

At that level, it is probably more about bandwidth and line type than
about the IPs (for a reasonable number.) Chances are if you buy a T3
line to a major ISP or NAP they will throw in 256 (or some suitable
number) of IPs much like when you get one or a few IPs for a server
or individual business account.

There are also companies that specialize in both virtual server
resellers (you become a reseller with their hardware and IPs) OR
in collocation where you place YOUR servers in their facility and
then sell virtual servers to others....
