"invalid work queue item"

On a notebook ASUS A4K I have formatted the HD with XP Home and I have tried
to install the XP Professional, but I get the following "invalid work queue
item" in a blue screen.
Anyone can help me please?

You formatted with XP Home and are installing XP Pro? I don't follow you.

Why not format with XP Pro?

This doesn't even sound like a normal blue screen message, but maybe a
script error. What is your ultimate goal here? Upgrade? Dual boot? Clean
install?

of sure I have formatted with Win XP PRo, I would say that my previous OS was
XP Home. It was a clean install of XP Pro....I have tried many many times but
always with the same message "invalid work queue item" that appears during
the installation.

you have to install at least Xp Professional Sp1.
