After a recent "security update" (in this case "update" meaning: "we're
too lazy to fix a problem, so we'll kill the whole protocol that it's
related to"), I can no longer use usernameassword@website - I tried
the suggestion with adding this to the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD_DISABLE]
"iexplore.exe"="0"
"explorer.exe"="0"
but it doesn't help at all - passworded sites still cause the error. How
to get rid of this annoying new behavior? Do I have to overwrite some of
the DLLs installed by that update with an older version, is that the
only way (and if so, which DLLs)?
