Invalid Installer Messages

When I start Windows "Search" and say "files and folders", it starts loading
the Search window. Either while starting up, or after it's loaded and I'm
starting to type my search criteria, Windows installer messages start poping
up, 2 or 3 times. After they go away, it works fine. But what an annoyance.
I just reinstalled Windows installer 3.1 trying to resolve it, to no avail.

The invalid windows installer message box popup says, "preparing to install".

Try a System Restore back to a point B4 the problem started.

Thanks, but my restore function has never worked. It always comes back with,
"could not perform system restore". Besides, this problem has been ongoing
for a long time, not sure when it started.
