Internet speed test???

Hi
I was surfing the web, when a pop up popped up and said
that my Internet connection speed was low, and they
recommended that I needed and Internet speed test, which
they were happy to do.

My question is, is the website genuine, or is it just a
ploy to get into my computer, and install spyware.
Please Advise
p.s I am on a broadband connection, and my computer speed
is pritty good, but Id like it to be lightning,would it
be if I had an Internet speed test???

That was, more likely than not, just a "snake oil" advertisement,
trying to sell you a product that won't do anything but lighten your
wallet.
