Internet shortcut

I sent some internet pages shortcuts to my desktop. When I try to open them,
I always have a window opening, asking me what program I want to use to open
this shortcut.
I choose internet explorer and save my choice, but each time, I am asked the
same thing. This problem started 2 days ago with no reason.

In Control panel/Default programs, scroll down to the 'Protocols' at the
bottom, and set your defaults for the URL stuff.

Well, make that a setting in IE 7, tools menu, options, Advanced tab,
"Reset" button

The other person is using IE6. Does that make your answer change in any
way?

Thank you. I went on to control panel, but did not find default programs.
Looking into control panel, I clicked on Internet explorer/program and saw
that Ie was not my default program, so I made it my default program and it's
working fine now. This problem came after I remove firedox mozilla (this
installed itself on my PC from google I guess)

Mark changed his advice -see other post.

Select Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, Tools, Advanced, Reset.
This was on the basis of Mark thinking you had IE7 but it is likely
equally to IE6 which I think you have.
