Internet Options - Connections - Keeps resetting

I have a dial-up connection that I use to connect to the Internet.

I set the Internet Options - Connections tab to "Always dial my default
connection."

However, it keeps reseting to "Never dial a connection" without warning.
It will work great for several days, then it suddenly stops dialing.
When I check out the Internet Options it has been reset.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if there is anything that can
stop it from recurring?

Thank you,

Richard..

This sounds suspicious. Start with a virus and spyware scan to exclude that
possibility.

The system was scanned and there are no virus' or spy ware.

The virus definition is up to date.

I don't know that your problem is malware, but I just wanted to point
that any scans you have done only reduce the chances that malware is
present. They can not and do not eliminate the possibility.

Particularly regarding spyware, a single anti-spyware product--even
the best one--is *not* good enough. Note what Eric Howes, who has done
extensive testing on Anti-Spyware products, states:

"No single anti-spyware scanner removes everything. Even the
best-performing anti-spyware scanner in these tests missed fully one
quarter of the "critical" files and Registry entries" See
http://spywarewarrior.com/asw-test-guide.htm

If there's any possibility of malware infection, I recommend that you
go to Malke's Malware Removal site at
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware and
follow the instructions there.

Per Spy ware on my system there are actually two that are running:
Windows Defender and ZoneAlarm. I will check out this website as well.

No, Windows Defender is an anti-spyware program, but ZoneAlarm is not.
ZoneAlarm is a firewall program.
