internet keeps connecting

i have two internet accounts - dsl and dial-up.
whenever i haven't been connected to the net for a few minutes, the
dial-up account keeps connecting. what could be causing this, and how
do i stop it?

the "redial if line is dropped" checkbox in the dial-up account's
properties is NOT checked.

Tried "never dial a connection" in the Control Panel/Internet
Options/Connections tab yet?
