internet gateway slow 1.0 bit/sec

I've connected my two computers to a wireless router through it's
ethernet ports
one of the computers is connected to the internet
I share the internet connection but the internet gateway seems to be
very slow / disabled
with a speed of 1.0 bit/sec
any suggestions?

also I have a useless bridge that I can't delete
Microsoft Firewall has to be disabled to show the gateway
network connections after "some" home net installations (the windows
procedure) don't seem to work

whoever wishes to know how to connect two computers with internet and
one wireless router without internet please take note:
define static ip of the wan in router settings so it points to the
computer with the internet (usually 192.168.0.1)
define address of the router so the computer with the internet will be
part of the local network (for example 192.168.0.254 instead of
192.168.123.254)
I could continue with how to connect a nintendo ds to this network but
that's a story for another post

now if someone can explain why I don't see the router web settings
through the web browser it will be much appreciated (I use
192.168.0.254 but after a while firefox shows connection reset)
