Internet explorer wont load

I have IE 6 with sp2 it wont load any webpages i keep gettin page cannot be
displayed error.But im connected to the net ,i can connect to all my
messengers ,my media players connect to the net and the browser in real
player lets me on the net. So how do i fix my IE or reinstal it.All this
happend after i removed addware from my pc.

If you lost your Internet connection after removing spy-ware
(such as NewDotNet, and Commonname) the following steps will help
restore your connection. This works for Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP.

1.) Download WinsockFix.zip. (by: Option^Explicit)

2.) UnZip WinsockFix.zip
3.) Run WinsockFix.exe.
4.) Click the Fix button.

This program will clean up your TCP/IP connection and rebuild the
database.
After the program is complete, reboot.

I couldnt get the file from that adress but i ddi get one from
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4372.html its the same program.I ran it on
my pc and it worked.
