Internet Explorer was removed

Either I or Windows XP Pro deleted and removed EI from my computer. I have
tried to download it again but when I run the EXE file to install warning box
states I have a newer version on my ststem than IE 6 SP1.

When I booted it advised me that IE was removed so I don't understand why I
cannot download and re-install IE again??????

Do a repair install
