internet explorer taking all my cpu usage capability

I noticed today that my cvpu usage was running close to 100%. I looked at
task manager under processes and saw that internet explorer was the item
using up all the usage. I went in and disabled all the add ons for the
browser to see if that helps. Then the next time I tried to open athe
browser I get an alert that the web page is trying to open an ad on that has
been disabled.
Two questions:
1) anyone have any idea why my browser would suddenly start eating all my
cpu capability and freezing any other applications open?

2) How can I tell which add on a browser page is looking toopen when I get
an alert message?

You may be seeing the affects of a hijackware infection (cf.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:
